Jan Bosch, from Westphalia, arrived at New Amsterdam, by the ship "de Vos," which sailed from Texel, August 31, 1662. When the English Governor, in 1665, desired to billet off soldiers, Bosch claimed he could not receive soldiers, as "he has no bed" for them. He is mentioned in the court records as late as 1674, He was dead before May, 1679, when his widow, Rachel Vermelje, married Dirck Wesselsen, from Arnhem.
