Tryntie Jans from "Breestede" (Bredstedt) came to New Netherland with her parents, Jan Jansen and Engeltje Jans, in 1636. She had two sisters and one brother in New Netherland. See the articles "Dorothea Jans," "Elsje Jans," "Jan Jansen van Breestede." On June 3, 1646, she was married, in New Amsterdam, to Rutger Jacobsen. a resident of Rensselaerswyek (Albany). Rutger Jacobsen came from Schoonderwoerf, a village some twelve miles south of Utrecht, Holland.
