MAYER, Johann Friedrich. Born at Obermoschel, 4.IX.1716. Son of Johann Wilhelm and Maria Magdalena Mayer. Has left for America in the year 1749 at Whitsuntide. A Frederick Mayer was naturalized with Leonard Mayer in Philadelphia, 10 April 1760 (PHSL XXIV, 58), and a Frederick Mayer, of Dover, York Co., was naturalized 27 March 1768 (PHSL XXIV, 153). A Frederick Mayer, of Warrington Twp., York Co., made his will 7 July 1813 (proved 2 Aug. 1813). He named his wife Anna, and children Peter, Frederick, Mary, Elizabeth, and Margaret (GSP York, 388).
