Born at Fröschen, 23.VII.1758. Son of Johann Valentin and Catharina Gaenssel. Has left for Pennsylvania with his parents 1763 May. Johann Valentin Gaenssel, son of Jacob Gaenssel, from Fröschen, married at Thaleischweiler, 15.11.1758, Maria Catharina, daughter of Ludwig Petri, from Krickenbach. Valentin Günsel arrived on the ship Chance, 1 Nov. 1763 (S-H I, 685). Adam Gensei, single freeman, was living in Maxatawny Twp., Berks Co. 1780; as a weaver, he was in Richmond Twp., Berks Co., 1784, and later (PA-3, XVIII, 384, 670, 790). In 1790 two men named Adam Gensei were listed, one in Greenwich Twp. and the other in Longswamp Twp., both in Berks Co. (First Census, pp. 34,36).
