Shoemaker. Born in Knittlingen, Duchy of Württemberg. Married at Billigheim, 24.1.1747, Catharina Ring (b. at Klingen, 23.1.1725), daughter of the weaver Andreas Rinck, and his wife Anna Catharina Hofmann. Americ., Andreas Göring lived at Klingen. Andreas Gering arrived 20 Oct. 1752, on a ship appropriately named (in view of his birthplace) the Duke of Wirtenberg (S-H I, 498). Andrew Gering, of Salisbury Twp., Northampton Co., was named in the tax-lists for 1786 and 1788 (PA-3, XIX, 215, 311). In 1788 Andreas Gering was listed in Upper Milford Twp., Northampton Co., and Andrew Gering in Macungie Twp., Northampton Co. (PA-3, XIX, 305, 330). Andrew Gering, of Salisbury Twp., was living in 1790 (First Census, p. 179).
